Cool build. The whole time I kept worrying about how much it would weigh, but 120 lbs isn’t horrendous. Maybe try to make an ultralight version with included solar panel to charge an eBike for your next version?

Dude. I just stumbled across your video, and you won't believe this, but this has been a fantasy of mine since I was at least 10 years old. I grew up on the road in a large RV (literally, never had a house) and I've traveled to 45 of 50 states, and 2 Canadian provinces before I was age 16. I'm now successful in my career and am a homeowner, unlike my parents. But I always dreamed of one day traveling the country living simply in a small bicycle camper. It's just this thrilling thought...

You've done an outstanding build on that trailer. As you said earlier in the build, it would've been better if you would've used ¼ inc plywood cause it would have been much lighter but in the meantime, it's still good for what you're gonna use it for. Enjoy yourself on the trails and camping.

Great Job Drew, Looks great. It occurred to me that along with some of the other weight saving mods for your next upgraded version , you could reposition the axle to get the pointy end facing forwards, I think it would probably be a lot more aero dynamic.

@Simon Pegg That is true, my point was that even with a super streamlined version, if the winds are that bad it probably won't make a difference.

@Richard F. Stripe Hi Richard, thanks for your reply. I was recently out riding my motorcycle in a very strong headwind,, gale force even, 50 mph approximately, virtually came to a stop head down, full throttle. My point is on your bicycle even a short gust can affect you quite dramatically I could imagine any wind probably stronger than 15 mph and you would end up going backwards.

3 дня назад
Richard F. Stripe +1
Richard F. Stripe

@Simon Pegg You're right, in this specific instance the front end is probably a bit too flat for that to be true, but even with a stiff headwind, I don't think it'll make much of a difference at cycling speeds.

4 дня назад
Simon Pegg +1
Simon Pegg

@Richard F. Stripe Hi Richard, its not a bulbous end though is it, its flat! If it was a perfect tear drop shape or perfectly aero dynamic maybe, but the surface area of the flat end compared to the pointy end has gotta create more drag shirley. I suppose the bike and the rider might brake up the profile a bit? I'd like to see the wind tunnel data please.

I love it. Well done. If I were to offer any suggestions it would be to install a invisible screen magnetic door so that when you are camping, you may leave the door open for cool night air. Also a few vents that you could open or close would be great too. Awesome job.

I am very impressed by your ingenuity. I, myself, have a trailer, though, much smaller. I have four very good suggestions: First, Replace all the inner-tubes with solid rubber tubes. Flats suck. Second: Replace the hitch spring with three steel chain links. You will still have full function of the hitch without the spring stretching (Yes, it will stretch very quickly). Third: Replace your seat with a "cruiser" type spring seat. Fourth and final: Add a bicycle flag to the traffic side of the rear of the trailer. All of this advice is just to add to your enjoyment, comfort, and safety. My rig weighs about the same, but, I do tent camping with stove, fuel, bedding, etc,etc...Happy trails.

Okay this is the coolest idea ever! I’ve been watching bike pulls lately and think it’s a powerful way to show what basic technology and human only power can accomplish! I have to say though (I’m sure you’ve thought of this) if you could tun your already built camper 180 around the aero dynamics could possibly be better 😁 smooth travels man! Cool

Looks really good! One thing that I would recommend: moving the wheels a few inches forward would help take the weight off of the hitch. As it currently rides, there's going to be a lot of stress on that hitch. If you have it closer to balanced on the wheels, it will reduce the strain; it will probably be even easier to tow as well.

I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days. Yea, I make a record in the language of my father, which consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians. And I know that the record which I make is true; and I make it with mine own hand; and I make it according to my knowledge". 1 Nephi 1-3 Hello friends, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The verses above are the first three verses in The Book of Mormon. I know this probably isn't the most ideal place to talk about religion but I really do want you to know that God loves you. You may not love Him or care about Him at all, but He still will continue to love you. You are a beloved son or daughter of God. He knows you personally and He truly and deeply desires for your happiness. He loves everyone who has every lived on this earth, with a perfect equal love regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, faith and values and beliefs. The Lord loves you more than you can think or comprehend. "He inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile" 2 Nephi. He is our loving, caring Heavenly Father. We are literally His children and creations. When we were in the womb, he knew about us" Jerimiah 4:5. He knitted us and we were created in His image. I testify to you that you and I are not a mistake. He knows the very moment when we stand and when we sit. He is familiar with all our ways and knows us personally who we are. The hairs on our very head are numbered. God loved us so much, He sent His Only Begotten Son for us, that we may be able to return and dwell in the presence of God again. The Lord has not forgotten about us even when it feels like He has. He will never forsake us. When we are happy, He and His angels rejoice alongside us. When we are sad, He heals us and lifts us up from our trials. He has always been there for us. He has always been our loving, compassionate Heavenly Father and God. Will we always be His children and people? I testify to you that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. Both love you exceedingly and rejoice when you are happy. They both love you so much. They love you with a love unfeigned. They will never ever stop doing good unto you. I know that The Book of Mormon is true. "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost". Moroni 10:4 I promise and testify to you, that if you will read The Book of Mormon, ponder on its message and ask God if it is not true, you will come to know of its truthfulness, whether its true or not true. Remember my friends that God loves you with all his heart, might mind, soul and strength. He wants you to be happy. He knows what you are going through and dealing with right now. He desires for you to return back to Him. Unfortunately, He has been misrepresented and seen as a cruel and angry God who anticipates for us to slip and writes down every mistake we make waiting to punish us by those who do not know or know Him fully. My friends, God has stored many opportunities and blessings for you. He is incredibly eager and desires with all His heart to bless you abundantly. He wants you to live with Him again. He only wants the best for you and your well being. He wants to experience everlasting joy and indescribable happiness in this life and in the life to come. He wants you to partake of His goodness and come and follow Him. The Lord does not care how early or late you decide to come unto Him. I testify to you that if you have strayed and wondered off the path that there is peace and hope in Jesus Christ, The Savior of the world. The Lord accepts those who come unto Him whether your early, late or just in time who desire to change. The Lord will accept you wholeheartedly and forgive you if you are willing to change. The Lord will welcome you and will always be ready to embrace you with open arms. The Lord will lift us up in our trials and use us to bless the lives of those around us if we are willing to change. If you desire to learn more, you are always welcome to visit comeuntochrist.org. There you will learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ and our core beliefs and values. If you have taken the time to read The Book of Mormon and this comment, thank you. It takes a huge leap of faith and a lot of courage to muster enough faith to read in the Book of Mormon and to believe in something in a personage that you may never see in this lifetime. Although we may not be able to see God and Jesus Christ in this life, I testify to you that they are real. They do truly exist. I promise you that if you will pray to know of their existence, you will come to know whether they exist or have been made up. You are my friends. The Lord loves you unconditionally and is fully aware of you and despite all our weaknesses and shortcomings, he still loves us and will forgive us if we will humble ourselves before Him and diligently seek correction and do whatever is needed to repent. Remember that The Lord is always available to talk to through prayer 24/7. No question sounds too silly for Him. James wrote, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" James 1:5. If you must know whether or not something is true and uplifting, or evil and deceptive, you can always pray to God. He will help you know what the truth is and what is not the truth. He will never be too busy to talk to. He will give you strength you need to overcome and conquer your temptations and will give you the strength you need to endure through your trials and afflictions. Paul said that The Lord will not give you temptations that you cannot resist, but that in your temptations, He will provide a way for you to resist, overcome and conquer them. He will provide a way. He wants to bless you and reward you abundantly in Spiritual and physical things. The Lord knows you and will not forget you. You are loved. You are utterly amazing. You have incredible potential. You are not forgotten or ever will be forsaken. You are special. You are unique. You really are one of a kind. You have been reserved for this time and The Lord needs you on His side. It just simply would not be the same without you. That's just how much the Lord need you on His side. Thank you dearly for your time.

@S Wilhelm I think that would be doable. Instead of a short fixed bracket for the wheels, you could have several brackets, OR have one long bracket with several slots to set the wheel axles into. Even one long slot with 'dips' where the axle would rest, but not slide as easily. sort of an "undulation" of dips and rises, moving the axle to whichever dip suited the weight and distance necessary. IF that makes sense. It would be easier to draw it than to explain what I mean.

Damn Dude, you didn't miss a thing, job well done. As a fellow cyclist, absolutely agree, 1/4" or 5/16" ply would have saved a load of weight. Also using aluminium square tube instead of steel would have dropped a good bit of weight as well, that coupled with thinner plywood, you could maybe get it down closer to 70lbs - time for a V2 already ;-)

@jacob s Depends. A trailer frame has to resist forces in different directions and stay rectangular. A ladder only resists force in one direction. But you may be right.

@comingviking My friend they build some roof access ladders out of aluminum. They can just bolt it together. It doesn't have to be welded.

@General You can bolt aluminum together, just use 1/2 all thread nuts washers and a L-bracket at every corner. Drill hole on each side shove all thread through. When I have to hang water heaters I will use aluminum or Unistrut, but both ways I am bolting it together.

@Nef Anyo using aluminum channel would have been the best way to go. also with all that wood, foam, canvas, and paint he could have just built it out of fiberglass. That would have been: 1) more waterproof 2) more rigid, 3) more aerodynamic 4) better looking 5) better insulated and 6) much much much lighter

Great video, great idea. Watch out for cross-winds, trying to tip the trailer over. Also i would keep some flat plates (wood or plastic) inside the trailer to increase de footprint of the leveling bars (soft ground). And did you insulate the bottom?

I like this build, it turned out great. As others have said, weight is probably an issue. Do you know how much the steel frame on its own weighs? I think you have enough structure in the camper to avoid having to extend the frame all the way to the rear, it could probably stop at the axle. You could probably use angle iron instead of square tubing to save more weight as well without going the aluminum route (cost/welding concerns?).

Definitely a cool watch but mostly bc of the build process itself, as an usable product i think the disadvantages would outweight the advantages (dragging a 100+ pound trailer seems much harder than assembling and disassembling a camping tent carried in a bag rack for example)

@Piotr Feder where do you charge the e-bike...what's the total cost of the build $1200 ..does this include the cost of all tools used for the build?I think not..this build is not for just anyone..its for someone who has a workshop filled with tools etc.as much as I lik the idea ...the amount of calories intake needed to go from place to place would be in the region of 4000 calories...so added weight of kitchen utensils etc and a ton of water also...so how long would the e-bike last pulling the whole rig..its a well done project but thinking down the line I'm not sure ..just my two cents

Awesome build. I would think a few big weight savers would be aluminum tubing instead of steel and instead of plywood you could have used foam block and then glassed it all together in a similar manner. There are Facebook groups dedicated to building campers out of foam, and they render an extremely lightweight trailer. Composites are another great option, we use them in our adventure trailer line, very strong, can't rot, won't soak up water or mildew, decent screw retention. There are some very lightweight, easy to install door options too from the RV industry...compartment doors being lighter than a small entry door, but still able to lock, watertight and VERY lightweight. What I really like about your build...you used common materials that most people can find, use and afford. Great job!!

Most aluminum is very soft most of the time, unless you want the good expensive stuff. Steel is more practical for heavy duty usage like so. Aluminum could work, but the life span and durability would be greatly reduced.

Despite the weight, it's an extremely fine piece of work and will make for a great overnight camping experience. I think the answer would be to use it for short hops on the bike and local camping and see it as a healthy workout. I have a couple of e-bikes that would easily solve the issue of weight. Perhaps think about a lighter model for trips further afield. All in all though, a fantastic job. Well done.

Really well built. Had concerns about the weight and possibly overbuilding of it. Double layerer of coroplast might be a interesting alternative to the ply shell. Liked the old school glued canvas, just like they used to do with boats and campers long ago. Oh and steam/heat the inside bend of the wood not the outside, the heat allows the fibers to compress allowing it to bend.

Although we may not be able to see God and Jesus Christ in this life, I testify to you that they are real. They do truly exist. I really enojyed your video, and I loved what you've done with the camper 👍😊 Great job! I loved your originality with this project! I also enjoy creating new things, but on smaller scale. Just a suggestion for you, when you're going through rough terrain and long distances, the wheels of the camper could be a bit thicker, for extra safety and better gripping. Thx for awesome video again and enjoy your bike camper !👍😊🎉

I love this build. I'm wondering if something like this could be used for a motorcycle instead of a bicycle. The chassis and wheels would obviously have to be changed and you'd have a little more room for weight too. You did a great job and gave me a lot of ideas to consider. The best was the lack of fancy tools and you using what you had made it feel like a more inviting project I think.

This was really cool to watch. I also wondered if an aluminum frame to reduce weight would be good. I loved the silicone sealant in the screw holes to reduce the chance of leaking, and I think it will also reduce screw loosening with all the bouncing and rattling the camper will experience on and off road. If you had a small Jackery on your shelf, you could wall-mount a small fan, the kind that can reposition to any orientation, to help you with air flow while sleeping, and potentially reduce condensation from your breath by aiming it to push air out one of the windows. Very interesting vid.

Thats a really great build and it inspired me a lot! But you could probably made it lighter by using aluminium and plastic materials instead if wood. It also will make it less vulnerabile to wet weather and climate. Also, its probably better to not get ur wires under the roof, cause if something happens to them (which can be and pretty much at random) you will have to tear your whole roof.

Firstly stunning build and is something I have dreamt of for years. I have done two long haul journeys in England one which lasted for 4 years and I'm a roadie at heart. A bit heavy I think for the roads in the UK I think apart from Norfolk there are epic hills to climb. I have played with the idea of using a youngmans board as a base but make it like a tent so it collapses. I am stuck on the weight.

Beautiful ! maybe you could put a removable hitch that you could move to the back or front depending on which way the wind was coming, at you,or against you. Definitely is cool! I've seen some people with ebike camping setups. They pull out 2 solar panels and say it takes a few hours to charge fully. With an ebike, the solar panels installed on the roof, and an extra battery or two stored in the trailer, I could see this going 25-30 mph for an entire day. That could be 2-300 miles easily. Obviously that isn't ideal when you're on a bike and it would probably only be 50 miles before your back and ass were killing you sitting it, but super cool nonetheless.

Randomly came up on this video while watching van builds. Awesome work. Was so pleasant to watch. Definitely gave me "This Old House" vibes from my childhood for some reason lol. I do have a question though, for safety and/or longevity- would it have been better to put the door hinges on the inside vs the outside, or would that compromise the integrity of the door frame? Like would it be too heavy that way? Also, if you did a tricycle type bike instead for steadiness, could an attachment be added onto the back to carry supplies. Like a bike rack or something. Or a large cooler or box to carry the things needed if someone would use this for semi-long term vanlife type things?

Cool build. I think the idea of the extra bar around the outside of the wheel is a very good idea... Those wheels won't hold out well in rougher terrain, or when they're under a heavier load. Also, I'd consider doing a centralized electrical system - A small bank of LiIon cells charged by a solar cell. They would power internal lighting, as well as the little red lights at back.

Very clever stuff and skillfully manufactured. With the hindsight of watching you build this; to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics, I'd make a flat trailer out of an aluminium frame and use tubes and canvas to make it into a quick-erect trailer tent. Perhaps with a plywood roof, canvas wall with a zipper door and windows and levers to keep it erected.

Aluminium is harder to weld than steel. You'd need an evening course and a lot of practice to get to the level where you can build a trailer bed. Plus if anything breaks in the back of beyond its more likely you'll find someone with steel welding equipment. Aluminium welding requires 100% argon gas and alternating current. Steel just needs DC, more common argon/co2mix gas or flux cored wire. An arc welder will do it too. Unless you absolutely have the equipment and experience, keep it simple. You'll kick yourself I have bitter experience! Been there. I was a welder for 13 years then went to machining.

@JLinnGamin I'm really pleased that you liked my suggestion, I have no experience working with aluminium but I'm sure the know-how can be found on the web. I was think of a flatbed trailer with a light plywood roof, heavily yacht varnished and maybe even with a simple skylight. The roof could simply be mounted on four poles or maybe something a little smarter in the form of levers. Rather than paying out for canvas, it might be cheaper to reuse one or two second-hand tents to create the walls, door and any windows. I would also use smaller 20" bicycle wheels to make it easier to get in an out of the tent and store the trailer. Another idea I had was to make the base fold in half to reduce the length of the trailer when being towed - that might be impractical but it did cross my mind. A folding design might be better off with a canvas roof which could employ a ridge pole to create a slight apex to prevent pooling if it rains. Drop down supports by such a hinge mechanism would keep the trailer flat when unfolded. In fact, in theory, you could find the right-sized quick erect tent and attach the base to the unfolded trailer of the same size then simply fold the entire trailer in half for travelling and unfold it when ready to camp. That way you get to carry what you need strapped onto the top of the trailer but have the tent element almost ready to go when you make camp. The advantage is the tent is already partially unfurled and laid out when you fold open the trailer and you get to sleep above a potentially dirty, cold or wet ground surface. I guess there are many ways to approach such a design but I'm glad you agree that canvas can solve a lot of problems, however it is used. Sounds like a really great project and I wish you the best of luck with your trailer build.

As others have mention, I don't know how good of an idea would be to flip the side taller teardrop side to the back and have it rest on the back wheels to reduce air drag and balance weight. Also you'd have to consider the weight hang at the back of the camper lifting your rear and only traction wheel. Just an idea and thought. We are ready for version 2.0 Thanks for the content.

I plan on using 4x8 sheets of 5.2mm Lauan board, and 1" rigid foam. Glued together using low expansion polyurethane spray foam. My local Home Depot has them. I find even 1/4" plywood to be an overkill. Build it like you did, but with much thinner layer of wood glue. Enough to provide a protective layer for the polyester epoxy and to hold the canvas tight against the foam. Polyester epoxy or casting epoxy or table epoxy, eats foam. Regular resin epoxy doesn't, but it's super expensive. Polyester epoxy is cheap. The wood glue will hold the canvas tight to the foam and also provide a protection layer of polymer, long enough for the epoxy to set and not interact with the foam. Some "table river" and casting epoxies have UV protection as well. Once the wood glue is dried, instead of painting the canvas with paint, I plan on using a cheap polyester epoxy (colored titanium oxide white), applied with a roller and allowed the canvas to soak as much epoxy as it likes, before squeegeeing the excess off. Cotton and epoxy composite, is stronger than fiberglass and epoxy believe it or not! Cotton flux and epoxy is used in structural aircraft construction. I challenge anyone to dent the canvas skin made this way with their finger nail. I built a LongEZ aircraft using fiber glass and foam, and I'll never work with fiberglass again. Even though I have yards of the stuff left. Pure cotton canvas is heavier than fiberglass, but also produces a stronger composite with epoxy. For the frame, since I don't have a welder, and find steel disgustingly heavy and overkill, I plan on using either a 1" aluminum square tubing and braze them together using aluminum brazing rods and propane torch, Or just build it using 2x3 kiln dried construction lumber painted with epoxy. Wood is nature's unbeatable construction material. Many people think it's low tech, but they would be wrong. The floor will be 1/2" epoxied plywood. If you know soldering, you know brazing. I think I can make this trailer weight under 50 lbs. !! That's the goal anyways. Love your design.

My suggestion for improvement would be to drop the axle ( by using your idea of dual-sided axle mounts) that additional 4-6" to make the frame parallel with the hitch hight. The angle its at presently puts almost all of the weight on your rear wheel, by leveling that you will greatly reduce the amount of weight on the rear wheel and should make it easier to pull, plus being lower it should be much more stable.

This was amazing! Thanks for sharing. I’m thinking the next investment should be an e-bike or e-bike attachment for those big hills!

Pick up your cross and follow Jesus! The world is quickly headed for destruction, and sooner or later you will have to sit at the judgement seat and give an account for your actions. Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life! - Revelation 3:20. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God tho. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc and you should get a response. Have a blessed day!

Great Project!! Just looks awesome wholesome! However, I'm thinking if there's a good amount of wind resistance or gradual hills... you're gonna have to rap some curses as you roll along. :-) As minimalist bike packer (excluding food and water) my gears are under 3.5 lbs, that's include a hammock set up and ground sleeping gear just in case I'd be stranded in treeless area. I'm happy to see you enjoying hauling this exhibition along; certainly you'll have some Great Sleep!

Excellent construction work and really well thought out!. I'm preparing to build my next e-recumbent bike (FWD) but as a tilting delta trike with a rear 6'x30" cargo deck because I haul my dog and stuff all the time by bike. The idea of bike touring and wild camping seems appealing too and you're video has given me some excellent pointers for an optional cabin.

I was thinking the lower end on the front would have been more aerodynamic, but you did a real good job!

Dodge Ramchargers have a wind-up roof vent that would fit perfect on that build. It would help you vent heat during the summer and even get a bit of light. Mount a small fan and you can pull some air through it!

VERY nicely done, congrats ! The only big concern would be the 60kg weight, empty... Not so big a deal if you only do some short occasional trips, but doing hundreds of miles, up and down mountains and occasional dirt roads, that's gonna be tough...

You make me wish I had my "PONDEROSA" in the woods even more now than before. Because I too am a mechanic as well. P.S: In case you ever want to put "BRAKE, TAIL, and TURN LIGHTS" on the back and side of your TRAILER let me know, I've done that on two trailers here at home (With a pigtail of course) and works "GREAT"!

I hope that cable never breaks... Great video, but personally I would have added plywood with a inch gap from the roof on the inside so that I could route the cables and change or add more if needed. Sure it adds a tiny bit more weight, but it'd just be purely aesthetic, the alternative is just little cable guides on the inside. Oh and fold down curtain like things on the inside. That'd be my only changes though. :P

Great build... I am wondering if you were to do it again, would slant the front to back... more aerodynamic... or at these slower speeds, it doesn't make much difference? Thanks for the video...

@Drew Builds Stuff - Great build... I'd install a couple of 250/400w brushless DC hubs to the cabin, it would help increase your maximum range. You could even charge their batteries with flat film solar panels on the roof. 👍🏻‍

very stimulating build. where its for a pedal-bike the need to keep it light and aerodynamic are fundamental and I wonder if a refined design with a different choice of materials and structure could have been beneficial?

since you have a cabine made of wood, install a eletric engine to the wheels, otherwise just remove the wood, but keep the base for camping tent.

My gosh, Drew - what a fantastic build! Very labor-intensive it seems, but the very high quality of your build shows. It's beautiful and I was surprised that the weight is much lighter than I had anticipated. Congratulations! Liked and subscribed.

Great video Drew, very unique idea to have a lightweight trailer to pull with your bike. You must be in Amish country, as in your ride, I saw some horses working tilling in a field. Very cute puppies greeting you at the end of the video.

Don't you have a major issue with "spring action" when pulling this fairly heavy trailer uphill ? I had a similar hitch, and lost all power going uphill because the spring would strech, then compress as the trailer eventually followed. I guess tension of spring < trailer weight uphill causes it. I ended up replacing with a ball bearing hitch.

Very cool built, just curious, wouldn't it be more aerodynamic to have the slope side reversed? i.e. the slope facing front so to reduce the wind resistance kind of like what we would see atop a transport truck... Thanks for sharing...

When I went bicycle camping, I took my backpacking tent, sleeping pad and sleeping bag, tied on top of my rear bike rack. That left my pannier bags for anything else I wanted to take with me. Far simpler, less expensive and less weight than that trailer, which I would never use.
