animal behavior, and the study of it, ethology, are spurred on by things like this for me...no doubt animals have intelligence we just don't entirely understand, look at their decision making, the unknown variables, transference and learning new skills...amazing.

I think the male lion was young and weak. In another video, I saw a fully grown male lion win over a pack of 20 hyenas. And without any injury, the male lion killed one of those hyenas. It's really impressive to see the power of a male lion, which is nearly twice as big as a female lion.
