You have no idea how grateful I am that you released that shark after taking the hook out, most people leave the hook in their mouth, because they are too scared to go anywhere near the sharks head, they just cut the line without even landing the fish, and then they go around saying, “Look I caught a shark!” When really, they didn’t. Basically what I am saying is that both me and that shark are so overwhelmingly grateful that you removed the hook before you released it.

Exactly. This one time I was crabbing and this man had cast his rod out but when he did, and began reeling it in. A seagull had swooped down and the hook got stuck in his wing. The man was too afraid to go near the seagull since it was so nippy as is he just snipped the line. The poor thing couldn’t fly and was only swimming. He most likely had died because of that man. I wanted to curse that man out so bad. All that avoidance to help a bird all because of his cowardliness to help the thing in need.

It will be ok. It was just stunned to be out of the water. Dragging it backwards in the water for just a short distance isn’t going to harm it. Towing it backwards by the tail with a boat, is a totally different story.
