Back in the 1980's I worked in an outdoor sports shop in London. It had nylon carpets and we always had to take care to discharge our static buildup before touching anything on the metal racks some of the hardware was displayed on. One day the manager, the regional manager and one of the three directors were leaning against the counter drinking coffee and chatting. Can't remember what it was, but I needed to get the manager's attention for something and went to touch his elbow...... the spark from my finger to his elbow was a full 2 inches long and that coffee came out of that mug still mug shaped. That wasn't the only memorable incident that happened that same day. Coffee duly restored and mess cleaned up they were back to chatting, and Roger the ski workshop chap was leaning against a mirrored pillar chatting with them when a large middle aged lady with perm came in and asked - "Do you sell large windbreaks?" (the sort you used to have on beaches back in the day) - "Certainly madam" said Roger, and produced a resounding fart. Roger had a great gift in the fart to order department. Furious, she demanded to speak to the manager. " Yes that's me" said Ray, still leaning against the counter. "Well?" she demanded. " Can you wait 'till I've stopped laughing?" said Ray, whereupon she said she would speak with his boss. "Yes that's me" said John - "Hilarious wasn't it!" "Right!" says she - "I'm complaining to your head office" John points at chap next to him with the torn jeans, the toes hanging out of his trainers and the hung over look (he'd just been celebrating his 40th birthday the night before) "Nothing like the present - here's one of the directors." Whereupon she stormed out to fits of laughter.

Everyone should own a dog. They can pretty much do anything you can teach them whether on purpose or not. My 6 month old pup watch me go outside for months. She studied me on her own and figured out how to open the doors. I have had to put smart locks on every damn door we don’t want her to go out of, but still love her to death. Every day I come home it’s like they haven’t seen me in a year. Such a good feeling.
