At age 36, Ovechkin is more than keeping up with star players that are 10+ years younger than him like McDavid, Draisaitl, and Matthews. The same thing cannot be said about Wayne Gretzky. At the same age, Gretzky couldn't keep up with the next generation of superstores like Jaromir Jagr, Mario Lemieux, Brett Hull, and Joe Sakic.

Ванечка молодец. После косячного первого гола (то что закрыт - фигня, должен был бестолковку высовывать). Ови молодец: не пошли щелчки - полез на пятак. Ну и финалочка от Бэкса что за пауза и что за бросок с неудобной под острым углом

He's always been good at scoring from different spots on the ice, but for a few years there, it really was mostly one-timers from the left. He started moving toward the net more frequently after Oshie got injured. Oshie's pretty much the king of one-timers from the slot, so there was no point in Ovie trying that if they were on the same line together, say, on a power play.
