I struggled with alcoholism most of my life. I've always loved country music, but when I first heard Hank and his story, it hit me like a freight train. I never cried so hard, so I came back to this song and I prayed so hard to let the good lord give me a second chance in life, and I am 5 days sober, and I have NO intention of slipping back with Hank and God by my side. Praise the Lord, I saw the light

My grandpa absolutely loved this song. He would get excited when his pastor sang this during worship. Several hours before he died this summer he asked his pastor to come to his house and sing some of his favorite gospels. You could tell it was his time and he was struggling, but he managed to open his eyes and smile for a few seconds when this started playing. My 4 year old was sitting there and started to sing along.

This how it feels exactly. I'm 34 now and was an ardent atheist my whole life then it hit me like a bolt from the blue. Praise Jesus

I go to a very modern church with my family. We’ve only been going there a little over a year and since I’ve been going there I’ve felt out of touch with my religion and felt horrible because I didn’t know why. Listened to this song and found out it’s this kind of gospel that speaks to me. Can’t deal with the new contemporary music out there. Glad I have access to this kind of music

I was 51 before I saw the light. I had heard the Gospel all my life, but never really understood it, but then in one night of sadness and in trepidation I called out to the The Lord and really, I just suddenly 'got it.' It really was like I just 'saw the light.' Thank you Jesus!

My granny used to sing this song every time she was cooking or doing any kind of household chore. My grandpa always asked her jokingly if that light had gone off yet.... She had the same answer everytime.... Not yet.....she passed away on Christmas Eve. I miss her so much and listening to this song will always be hard for me...but it's only good memories I think of.

When you realize what Hank Sr. was going through in his personal life when he wrote this, you realize that this was truly a work from God. With all the chaos going on now, it's just as meaningful today as in the 1940's.

In these dark times of the plague and lockdown I listen to this song everyday. A song of hope and redemption from the great Hank Williams. Stay safe y’all xxx
