I think they need to focus on making EV's

Fossil fuel engines are dying. So is Toyota if not going electric.

Thats a good move, however, electric vehicles will be in a much demand especially in countries like US, UK and China. Therefore, creating more “power efficient” EV is much more important. Nonetheless, fuel efficient cars might just help slow down the carbon emmision i guess
