I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you, prevent inflation from eroding your savings, build generational wealth, and cultivate good habits and financial knowledge, you must be in the market.

I invested early in PPS, then I got ptsd and since I had no support from the university of cape town I lost my disability pension. I thought this was a safe investment, but as soon as I became mentally unwell they added a term to the contract. excluding that as a disability.

As a black man coming from poverty and hitting a 7 figure net worth at age 27. I would add discipline to your list. Probably relates closest to focus but that I feel like is what got me to where I am today. Delayed gratification goes a long way but also luck will always play a role. Being in the right place at the right time. *edit* as I posted this he mentioned discipline 😅

If you bought the S&P 500 during 1927-1930 or 1999-200 you would have had negative returns for the next 20 years. Negative returns over any given 20 year period are not impossible, but they are improbable. We should probably call out this difference because to the person experiencing it the difference between improbable and impossible is quite large.

There is an important difference between being "Rich" and being "Wealthy". "Rich" is measured as the amount of assets and cash, while "wealthy" is measured as the amount of time that you can support paying your expenses from passive income. When you have sufficient passive income to pay all of your expenses, then you are wealthy. *You have no need to work for a paycheck. You have achieved financial freedom.*

I retired at 48..after ten years I went back to work.. Still enjoy working 5 or 6 hours a day at 71.. You begin to die when you stop doing something at least.. Just sayin

Wow!!! I only watched this because it popped-up on my feed. This guy is brilliant and honest unlike most YouTubers. Wish someone gave me this advice when I was in my 20s...or even 30s.

What I get from this video: 1. Do something you're good at because even though it's not your so-called passion, you will eventually like it since you're better than most people. Focus on it. 2. Live a reasonable lifestyle (income > expenses). 3. Be patient, especially in terms of investing. 4. Distribute your investment to various kinds of stock/things (diversification).

Settling up an investment that would benefit you is something one would be aiming towards. I wasn’t really a fan of online business because I have actually been doubting this all my life because I have been taken before by several scammers. But after my encounter with Luiz my prospective of online trade changes and I I’m now a millionaire from bitcoin

After „algebra of happiness“, I didn’t think there was more to be said. Proven wrong. Great pieces of advice. Particularly from a European stand point where investing is often portrayed as gambling (even index investing) by the insurance industrial complex to talk people into costly, needlessly complex insurance products.

Happy to watch this at 19 years old. I will definitely focus more on long-term investing than short-term investing. All in all, very valuable information!

If I went to college and still didn't know how to properly use the word "exponentially"... then yeah

@Kristijan Miksche computer science or electrical engineering or petroleum engineering and accounting and history for whatever free electives you have left over. Through in a few literature courses if need be. This way you have marketable skills to get a great salary to start your savings then investing journey, and you should also be able to handle budgets (personal and business) and have some sense of the world around you, what came before and worked or didn’t and why the world is the way it is. Hopefully one day start a consulting firm in your thirties. Or go into the trades and after a bit start your own company and still save and invest.

@Steve depends on the profession you want to be in. One thing you do get from going to college is discipline which can be apply in many aspects of life. With that said, many subjects you take from college do become useless in life if you are not going there to become a scientist or doctor.
