Tbh I'll always feel disappointed in the way the general public treated gugudan. While it's no question that Jellyfish totally mismanaged them and everyone is allowed to have their own taste in music, I can't help but get furious over how I never saw gugudan songs in Kpop Girlgroup compilations, but now that they are disbanded and never coming back Not that type is included everywhere and people are talking about how good the song is. Where was that enthusiasm when they were still active? Even worse, all the fans that never even cared about all the favouritism. Members like Soyee are normally completely ignored by everyone, thanks to the company literally doing nothing for her, giving her so little screen time and even lines, although she is an amazing vocalist. And there are a lot of fans who just ignored that. It's been a few months and it still breaks my heart, people are always crying over groups "not being good singers" but then don't even take the time to listen to groups like gugudan with an incredible vocal line up. So many Kpop Fans only care about groups from big companies. It's really sad. I hope all the girls will be happy and successful in whatever they choose to do in the future. I'll always miss this group dearly, I know we say this a lot but gugudan truly deserved better.

To be honest, Gugudan was set to be on a rough path the moment their official group name and debut song was decided. The name Gugudan is not appealing whatsoever nor memorable. Their debut song was horrible and weak, not to mention the MV looked like it was filmed on a low budget. I remember I looked forward to their debut so much because of the members who participated in P101, but the two things I mentioned above just left me in such disappointment that I lost complete interest from there on. They should have debuted with their later songs like "A Girl Like Me". I know I should've kept up with them more and gave them more support, but I'm not going to fake it. None of this is the girls' fault and instead completely the company's fault for their poor choice in reading the market and failing to set up the group well.

Why do they have so many members tho.. like they were just in the background and sejeong and mina was always in the center of attention

My thoughts about average company is not an ideal company to be in contract.. They will only care about popularity and money making.. I just hope those average company will learn from the big 4 to stick the groups and keep supporting the artists until they gain a success

Their decline and disbandment really bothered me because I thought they were one of those "it" groups that was going to do very well. They always had good production on songs, videos, and outfits, and they have more solid talent than Tw-.... than a lot of more successful groups. On one hand, their company put a lot of effort into their success, but on the other hand they stumbled pretty hard many times. The girls deserved recognition instead of the animosity they got.

why is it always called a "comeback"? when a group or artist releases a new album it's like fuck yeah great imma stream that shit. I feel like it would have been better if they debuted after I.O.I disbanded and gave them an actual good debut song. Also, I think Jellyfish made mistakes in debuting sub units since sub units typically do less well than full group comebacks (especially for rookie groups). There were too many big breaks between comebacks. Between debut and 1st comeback (A girl like me) there was an 8 month break. Then A girl like me and Chococo comeback there was a 9 month break. And another 9 month break between The Boots and Not That Type. These breaks were due to debuting sub units. They should have given them comebacks instead of having sub units. Jellyfish should have not pushed Sejeong and Mina so much in terms of centre and lines. They could have done it a bit (in order to promote the group) but they did it excessively to the point where people did not seem to care about the other members. People like to stan groups where they can like/know all the members, not just one or two. I didn’t stan gugudan but I really liked some of their songs. I still listen to a girl like me and not that type today. They were a group filled with great vocalists and had so much potential.

I loved GUGUDAN! They entered a crowded field right at the time that TWICE and BLACKPINK were really taking off and that was tough time.

I know it’s in bad taste to discuss other groups but YG was patient with Blackpink and it paid off. Rushing a trainee through 5 months and throwing them into a group with 3 members that were super popular is stupid, and having six additional members. It just isn’t smart. Also, their concept identity crisis isn’t good. It isn’t good in America with our artists and it wasn’t good for them. When I hear a BP song. I know it’s BP. They went from cutesy to mature back to cutesy to mature to more hip hop. It doesn’t work for a fan base. It’s confusing. Have one common thread and then switch it up with the subunits. I never listened to them but I feel awful. Also. Kpop fans. Be better. This weight stuff is out of control. Welcome to 2021. It’s absurd now and y’all look like crap to other countries. Point blank. Bullying girls on weight doesn’t go well in western countries and frankly it’s why many don’t care much for kpop. We just aren’t about it. It’s cool that they’re slim and that’s what’s in but NO ONE was overweight or had “broad shoulders” and it’s absolutely absurd to decide that that weight is too much weight. It’s disgusting. The problem with Gugudan is not the lack of talent but the poor song choices the company made. Other than A Girl Like Me, their songs were not memorable at all. The Boots is second, but Wonderland and Chococo were such big missteps, and I completely lost interest before their final comeback. Such a pity.

This is a reason why I liked "The Unit" instead of "Produce 101". Their is too many Kpop Groups being pumped out every year, barely get recognition, and then they disband. Produce 101 is the same, taking Trainees and pumping them out. Kpop Industry does not give lots of Groups, especially Girl Groups a chance to succeed, because their is just so many of them. I agree with the other poster here, instead of mass producing young Kpop groups, why not work with the ones that are already here? Promote them better, pump some life into them. Their is too many Kpop Groups that are already debuted but are stuck in purgatory, because their Company has no idea what to do with them, as they are not reaching overnight success. I liked "The Unit"'s idea of trying to boost the careers of Idols and Groups that are already here. Alot of groups will disband in 2021 and its a shame because alot of them are talented, but just needed better chances.

I am one of the biggest fan of Gugudan. I know lots from them (History) since produce 101 to Gugudan. But TODAY. JUST TODAY, I knew something new from them. Thanks a lot from you who made this video. I just knew that Mina was forced to perform for the performance even though she is suffering for that moment because of a knee injury. Wow.. I accidentally remembered that I am performing such as school activities (dance competition) I suffered from knee injury and I pretend that I don't felt anything bad. I quite see myself to my bias, Mina unnie.. I'll really support them because they changed me a lot, for example they gave me lots of motivations to do something such as dancing and singing. I got those because of them. Again, thank you a lot for making this video.❤️

Tbh, the biggest cons for most post PRODUCE group was that they have a lot of solo fans because that's what make them win on the survival show in the first place. Its hard because the dynamic was already broken and people don't pay to much attention to everyone if they are not eye catching or viral. It sad watching these idols give up their dreams where they spend most of their childhood and life. They deserve so much better but the world was really never fair for everyone.
