We should build a mecca for the pharmacy industry and medical supply industry in the Midwest. It is the heart of the manufacturing base of this country. Let's rebuild our capacity to be self-sufficient and it should start in the Midwest states!

Instead of punishing the rich, we need to focus on empowering/educating the poor. I know Warren is proposing to have some of that money go towards that end, but this is not a problem that you can just throw money at and solve the problem. We need the political and social will. Let's start by not having public education funded by property taxes.

The ability to write off certain things such as lunch, home office, cars , medical expenses ( vaca ) , business meetings ( restaurants ) and other perks is what is frustrating. The above video is a prime example of sliding the conversation from these life enhancing items that most people can't write off to an argument about general income and how it will hurt the public or stock holders. Then for someone such as myself who was REQUIRED to buy certain articles of expensive protective wear for work that could not be worn as everyday wear , I was told the amount had to be over a certain amount of my income. That is the issue right there. It was not over 7% of my income but it was still significant, enough so that when I was employed, I never had the extra money to purchase nice everyday clothing. That's what it does to working America, removing their dignity.

To just put this in simple terms. Pay for what you use. People on the poorest scale still pay taxes. Sales tax, gas tax, sin taxes. In fact by percentage and considering all taxes they pay the highest amount and it's not even close. Why should they pay for a military? Why should they pay for corporate welfare? So much of what they don't use, they help pay for. (The military...oh, why should the poor care.) Meanwhile, on the top? You want I should start listing all the stuff they get? Let's start with the Federal Reserve which SELLS money at such a low rate that Big Banks (The wealthy...when is the last time you met a poor dude with a share of a big bank?) Make HUGE profits lending money to people who use credit. And even if they fail, taxes bail them out!!!! How does that sound? Pay for what you use.

They want a wealth tax so they can use our money for gender programs in pakistan. We are all getting ripped off
6 часов назадA Grumpy Old Man
It is a tax on literally nothing, no action. To amass wealth, you need income, and income is already taxed. Even if you have no income, this tax - which is just a money grab to fund more socialistic welfare state spending (which buys votes) - would be a steady siphon away from one's wealth. Remember, these things always start with a sliver of society and then work their way down to regular Americans. You can bet that once the camel has its nose in this tent, this concept will eventually hit our stock portfolios, retirement funds, savings accounts, and even our home values. Furthermore, giving such a huge increase of funds to the government is never a good thing. This would simply empower the Liz Warrens and Bernie Sanders to hasten the slide of this country to socialism by canceling student loans (i.e. increasing irresponsibility for financial actions), paying for all manner of programs on the backs of others, etc. Very, very bad idea.

If these thieves in Washington want to give money to other country's they can give theirs same with their special interest tired of them stealing our money and giving it away

This wealth tax will not benefit anyone but other countries. Our tax dollars hardly go to our benefit anyway they just fund other nations. It will discourage others from getting to that level of success and keep us all slaves to these same billionaire while putting others out of work so these wealthy people can make up for the losses.

The sarcasm is great but it's really not useful in an actual debate it's great for drama it's great for TV it's great to get emotions up but the chunky guy sarcasm keep it at home try using some facts out there there was a comment made that the richest people paid about 2% and actual tax over their lifetime for the money they have so they don't fear the fair rate The reason they don't pay the fair rate even at today's tax rates is because of all the loopholes keep the rates the tax rates the same just take away all the loopholes then we'll see who pays the correct amount of taxes on what they earn

6 часов назадTom Tompkins
In the good old days you know make a great America great again let's go back to the '90s and Ronald Reagan when the tax rate on the wealthy was over 90%. Everybody's talking about this is some new thing that the progressives just came up with this was the status quo in the '90s gee I wonder who changed it from 90% down to the 0% it is now I'm not talking the percent they're supposed to pay I'm talking the percent they actually pay so all this jibber jabbering on what the rate is going to be if they still all have the loopholes the rate doesn't really matter because they don't pay the tax That's the first problem how about we just pay a flat rate across the board what's my tax rate probably up around 15 20% and I'm talking taxes across the board everything I buy all my food all my toys my house my car everything figure that tax rate into my meager income and then everybody should pay that flat tax no loopholes let's go with that and see how they like it I'm guessing that tax rate would be about 20%. Let them pay 20% of their billions and billions of dollars and I'll pay 20% of my tens of thousands because I already do that sounds fair I mean we're talking about fair right I listen to my 8-year-olds argue about what's fair all the time
