Yes you can totally do that. I would chop it even finer or mince it completely, so you get most of the taste but not so much of the chopped pieces. That is actually a great question/idea.

Made this recipe! It came out fabulous! I didn't have walnuts, I always have pecans. I used brown sugar, pecans, oats, butter & flour for a crumble for the top of the loaf. It came out rich & very scrumptious. The banana bread itself was moist & fabulous. No mistaking it for anything else but banana. ❤ ThankQ!
