That's an unusual way to erect the walls. Usually the frames are completed on the ground and then erected. I guess being alone makes that more difficult, this way is safer. Beautiful little house. Just a question, have you please planted new trees to replace the stumps you used as a foundation support. I'm sure you have.👍

I once loved to build things such as this. But I'm too old to do it now. I once built a little house out of free lumber I gathered from a construction site where I was working. It was being run over by machinery and thrown into the dumpster. Perfectly good wood for building. It took me a few weeks, but I managed to get enough wood for just about any project I wanted to do. I needed more storage space so I decided to build a storage shed, behind my house. The shed ended up being a guest house with a loft big enough for a king size bed and two end tables. I built a staircase for easy access. A gable roof 15 feet tall from ground to tip. I had some vinyl siding left over from a previous job and added that to the project. Soffit material actually. Double 5 which i installed vertically to give it an old time look. The floor was 2x12 boards all treated lumber. The wall studs were on 12" center because I had plenty 2x4's. All treated lumber. The over all lay out was 16x18. I built a small kitchen ett on the lower floor and a very small room big enough for a single bed and small end table. A closet space in the middle of the structure. The rest was a small living space. I also completely wired the entire building with copper wire scàrfed from a job site dumpster. The roof was made from 3x12 pallets. Stacked side by side and hand nailed. I fact the entire structure was put together with hammer and nails. No power tools. Free nails from construction sites i picked up off the ground. A small covered front porch and 3 windows. One on each side of the front door and one in the gable area of the loft. A tin roof added a nice touch. The only thing I bought for the entire project was the sheet metal roofing, two doors and 3 windows. Built solid as could be. A neighbor said it looked like a little church. And I suppose it did actually. My kids spent more time in it than i did. I never did use it for storage. It turned out super great. No brag just fact. Love your content. Brings back memories.
